CAN CERAMIC PLATES BE RECYCLED?

Technically, ceramics are recyclable; however, as I stated below, not all waste management facilities accept ceramics, as they do porcelain, earthenware, stoneware, crockery, and terracotta due to their nature of affecting other products during recycling.
True, recycled ceramics can be used for drainage systems; however, recycling centers that accept bricks and concrete may also accept ceramics.
HOW TO DISPOSE OF CERAMIC PLATES
First, if you have tried several options to recycle your ceramic plates and it is difficult, we recommend you carefully wrap your ceramic and toss them away in a bin.
Second, another way you can dispose of your ceramic plates is by donating them to the charity that is if they are still relatively useful and clean not chipped or broken.
Furthermore, if you have beautiful vintage ceramic plates, they can serve as decoration in your home and kitchen.
Lastly, most local thrift stores or consignment shops accept ceramic plates for reuse. However, in case your ceramic plates are badly chipped, make sure you duly inform them before handing them over.
IS PORCELAIN RECYCLABLE?
Porcelain belongs to the ceramics family. Because porcelain is made of non-metallic minerals such as Kaolin clay, feldspar, silica, and other components. Porcelain is fired at extremely high temperatures, up to 2,600 degrees Fahrenheit.
Porcelain is unsuitable for recycling due to its stringent manufacturing process. Second, porcelain weakens the other recyclable products in a recycling plant, which is why it is not accepted.
